UPDATE: According to Coroner Donnie Pearson, the man has been identified and next of kin is being notified.

Public Asked to Help Identify Deceased Man Found in Cromwell

CROMWELL, KY — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an adult male who was found deceased today on the porch of Green River Baptist Church, located on Highway 231 South.

According to the Ohio County Coroner’s Office, the individual is a white male believed to be between 60 and 70 years of age, approximately six feet tall, and severely undernourished. He had long, thinning blondish hair and a beard. No distinguishing marks or tattoos were observed.

At the time he was found, the man was wearing a red, white, and blue baseball cap with a smiley face, an aqua green jacket with a southwest-style design strip across the chest, and cartoon-print pajama pants. He was also wearing a gold initial ring on his left pinky finger, though the initial is not legible.

A fairly new blue mountain bike was found with the individual.

Officials report the man had been seen earlier in the day near Jones Funeral Home in Morgantown between approximately 1 and 2 p.m. Investigators believe he may have been seeking shelter from the rain overnight and may have died from exposure.

Anyone with information that could help identify the individual is asked to contact the Ohio County Coroner’s Office at 270-875-3926. Authorities are asking the public to share the information in hopes of locating next of kin and making a positive identification.

The Ohio County Times-News will keep you updated as information is made available.
