Last week, I spent several days with legislators from across the country at the NCSL Human Services Chairs, Public Health Session and Aging Conference. It was a whirlwind of topics discussing everything from AI to the impact of the ever-changing federal policies in the field.

Over the four days two interesting subjects stood out to me. They were Commercial Cost Drivers and Long-Term Care Financing and Sustainability which explored the comprehensive landscape of long-term services and supports, covering the full care continuum from home-based assistance to residential facilities.

I also took in some sightseeing around Milwaukee. I made a point to see the city hall from the opening of the TV Show Laverne and Shirley, as well as The Fonz statue. I managed to balance the pop culture highlights with a picture of me in front of an Abraham Lincoln statue. The architecture was really beautiful and I even saw my first Great Lake, Lake Michigan.
