🚒🚨WORKING FIRE–AFFLECK STREET🚨🚒

Hartford Fire Department companies responded to 186 Affleck Street shortly after 3:18 p.m. for a reported fire in a multi family residence.

Upon arrival, companies reported smoke showing from the Charlie/Delta side of the building and quickly called a working fire on the third floor. Companies made entry and quickly extinguished a fire in a rear bedroom.

Incident Highlights:

🔥 Working fire involving a third floor rear bedroom
🚨 Smoke showing from the Charlie/Delta side upon arrival
🔥 Fire quickly extinguished by Hartford firefighters
🔎 Fire room and adjacent areas overhauled and checked for extension, with none found
🚨 Primary and secondary searches completed, all searches negative
👏🏼 No civilian or firefighter injuries reported
🚨 Four families displaced: 9 people total; 6 adults and 3 children
🚨 Hartford Fire Department’s Special Services Unit is assisting the displaced families in coordination with the American Red Cross
🔎 The Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office is holding the scene for investigation

🚒🚨 Vehicle Fire Extinguished on Madison Avenue 🚨🚒

Hartford Firefighters quickly extinguished a vehicle fire this evening, August 18, at 74 Madison Avenue.

The fire was brought under control promptly, and no injuries have been reported at this time.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office.

🔥🏈 BATTLE OF THE BADGES 2026 🏈🔥

What a game! The Hartford Fire Department and Hartford Police CT Department went head-to-head in an exciting flag football showdown on August 9 at Hartford Athletics Stadium.

After a hard fought battle from start to finish, Hartford Fire came out on top, 22–20! 🚒🔥🏆

More importantly, it was a great day of camaraderie, competition, and community with our partners in public safety. A huge thank you to everyone who came out, supported both teams, and helped make the event such a success.

We hope the community enjoyed the game as much as we did. Congratulations to both teams on an incredible matchup!

🌿 Thank You, CT Valley Garden Club! 🌿

A big thank you to the CT Valley Garden Club and Ms. Barbara Kiefer for their continued efforts to beautify our Hartford firehouses!

Barbara and the Garden Club recently completed another beautiful planter at Engine Co. 1, located at 197 Main Street. With the help of our firefighters, they planted a native Inkberry bush in a new planter that matches the existing tall planter. It looks fantastic!

We truly appreciate the time, care, and community spirit that Barbara and the CT Valley Garden Club continue to show our firefighters and our community.

Thank you for helping make our firehouses even more welcoming and beautiful!

🚒🚨 EARLY MORNING WORKING FIRE – DOUGLAS STREET 🚨🚒

Hartford Fire Department companies responded to 70-72 Douglas Street shortly after 1:43 a.m.for a reported fire in a three story, wood frame, multi-family residence.

Thanks to the quick response and coordinated efforts of our Hartford firefighters, the fire was contained and placed under control. Everyone made it out safely, and there were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported.

Incident Highlights:

🔥 Working fire involving the third-floor cockloft on the Alpha side
🚨 First alarm assignment with all hands working
🔥 Three handlines in operation
👏🏼Residents from the second floor were safely evacuated
🔥 Primary and secondary searches completed, all other searches negative
🚨 No injuries reported
🚨12 residents displaced: 7 adults and 5 children across all three units
🚨 Hartford Fire Department’s Special Services Unit is assisting the displaced families in coordination with the American Red Cross
🔎 The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office
