HART provides city residents with the means to participate in effective, results-oriented campaigns designed to improve the quality of life in their community. Our collaborative work and its results have had an impact on key quality of life indicators such as resident-driven problem solving, neighborhood improvement, immigrant rights, leadership development, increased civic engagement, home owners

hip, family economic stability, and early childhood education. In recent years, HART’s influence has extended beyond its traditional boundary of Hartford’s south-end neighborhoods to all of Connecticut’s capital city. This past year we’ve even worked jointly with other cities on issues affecting statewide policies and practices.

CORAL Efforts: Community Organizing and Resident Action & Leadership is the process by which people are brought together to act in common self-interest. Do you live in Hartford? Is there an issue that bothers you - crime, immigrant rights, traffic safety, landlord/tenant rights? HART can help you work toward pro-active solutions, improving the quality of life in our Community. We offer leadership development classes for youth and adults form periodically throughout the year.

HOME Effrorts: Home Ownership Made Easy program and services assist first-time homebuyers and landlords throught counseling, educational classes, budget coaching, tax preparation, including confidential, individual credit counseling. HOME Workshops are available each month in English and Spanish.

HOPE Efforts: Walkers and Talkers school readiness and parenting education. Learn simple, proven ways to help your child become ready to learn. Connect with other parents like yourself. Find out vital information about services in Hartford that you can use to provide your family with a better life.
