Commenting Policy
All users are welcome and encouraged to share content on Stowe Center social media pages and channels. Content posted by other users on Stowe Center social media pages and channels does not necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of the organization. Links to content on other websites should not be construed as an endorsement of the organizations, entities, views, or content

contained therein. The Stowe Center is not responsible for the content of external websites. By posting content to any Stowe Center social media page or channel, users understand and acknowledge that this information is available to the public, and that other participants may use posted information beyond the control of HBSC. Users who do not wish to have information they have made available via these sites used, published, copied and/or reprinted, should not post on Stowe Center social media pages and channels. Stowe Center staff regularly reviews content posted by users to the official HBSC social media pages and channels listed above. All users are expected to adhere to site-specific Terms of Use when posting content to an official HBSC social media page. The Stowe Center reserves the right, but is not obligated, to remove content from HBSC social media sites or channels for any reason. If you plan to share content on a Stowe Center social media page, observe the following guidelines. When commenting under an existing post, please keep comments on topic. Observe confidentiality laws at all times. Do not post confidential information about individuals. This includes name, address, telephone number, email address, etc. Do not post spam or advertisements. The Stowe Center reserves the right to delete comments on any Stowe Center online and/or social media platform that promote services or products or that promote or oppose any political party, person campaigning for elected office, or any ballot proposition. Repetitive posts copied and pasted or duplicated by single or multiple users will result in deletion and/or blocking of the user. Observe fair use, copyright and disclosure laws. Always give people credit for their work, and make sure you have the right to use content before you post it on social media sites. Do not bully or harass other users. We welcome civilized dialogue on all issues. If you disagree with another user's opinion, please keep your comments respectful. Do not threaten, bully or harass other users. Refrain from using hateful speech. The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center will delete comments on any Stowe Center online and/or social media platform that contain abusive, vulgar, offensive, threatening, disparaging, or harassing language; personal attacks of any kind; offensive terms that target specific individuals or groups; and demeaning remarks about personal appearance or ability. Do not use vulgar language or profanity. The Stowe Center reserves the right to remove comments and posts that contain profanity. Do not post content that contains graphic violence or pornography. Several social media sites have a strict policy against the sharing of pornographic content and imposes limitations on the display of nudity and graphic violence. Refrain from posting such content on Stowe Center social media pages. Impersonation
Impersonation of a Stowe Center staff member, creator, or community member will not be tolerated. To protect the privacy of community members, we cannot use our social media forums or online platforms to resolve individual issues and request that you email us at [email protected].
