This evening, Hartford Fire joined our neighbors from the Fort Ann Volunteer Fire Company for a large-area search training. The training was led by Instructors White & Norton from Firefighter Training LLC, while several officers and veteran firefighters from each respective department contributed to the successful completion of each evolution.

Hartford Fire would like to extend our thanks to the Town of Fort Ann DPW for the use of their building and property this evening and to the Fort Ann Fire Company for the invite!

This evening, more than 25 firefighters from Hartford, J.A.Barkley Hose Co.No.1 Inc. ( Argyle Fire/Rescue ) & Granville Engine & Hose Company #1 joined at the Argyle Fire Training house with the primary focus being on bailouts from the 1st and 2nd floors.

An emphasis was made on scene safety, reviewing each department’s procedure for a “mayday” call, and ensuring proficiency with our bailout skills.

We would like to extend our thanks to Argyle for hosting the training and for the use of their building!

This afternoon, Station 34 provided a mutual-aid standby crew for the Fort Ann Fire Department while they operated at an outdoor fire with West Fort Ann Vol. Fire / Rescue. Brush 5 & Tanker 3 handled the assignment.

Spring is nearly here, and so is the annual burn ban. As the snow melts and temperatures rise, New York State is at an increased risk of wildfires in the spring. In effect from March 16 through May 14, the annual burn ban prohibits residents from burning vegetation and brush with few exceptions.

Engine Co. 1 was requested on the J.A.Barkley Hose Co.No.1 Inc. ( Argyle Fire/Rescue )1st Alarm Box Assignment for a reported house on fire. Engine 1 responded within 5 minutes of dispatch with a full crew, all SCBA qualified; Squad 4 followed with additional manpower.

Chief-34 was the first-arriving mutual aid Chief and was tasked with the role of incident operations officer.

Engine 1 was the first-arriving mutual aid unit, behind Argyle Engine’s 1&2.

Crews went right to work, tasked with fire suppression, “opening up” and laddering of the exterior.

Tanker-3 was added to the assignment per the request of command to supplement additional water.

Hartford Fire operated on scene for approximately 4 hours before being released by Argyle command.

Hartford Fire commends the work that was completed at this incident by all involved.

A thank you to the Granville Fire Department for providing standby coverage.

On January 13, 2026, Hartford Fire conducted our annual meeting. 2025 service statistics were presented; the company answered over 300 calls for service in 2025, including 118 firematic events and 195 medical responses. The election of officers was conducted for 2026 with the following results:
