A really informative interview summarizing the 2026 work of the CT Legislature with AARP, and stakeholders. The video is a real inside look at how the lawmaking process should work and how, when it's hitting on all cylinders, it can acheive positive change in the lives of its subject population. All it takes is a "can do" attitude and prioritizing people & policy over politics.

It's a pleasure being part of a great leadership team on CT's Aging Committee, where productivity comes from shared objectives and collaboration.

Warning: The full video is thirty minutes long. I think you'll enjoy it most in a comfortsble chair, or in sections. If you watch the whole thing, PM me with your comments, and I'll send you one of the much coveted Mitch stressballs.😉

On the evening of Thursday, May 21, 2026, incumbent Newtown State Rep. Mitch Bolinsky was unanimously endorsed for re-election at a caucus of the Newtown Republican Town Committee. The 2026 general election for all Connecticut General Assembly House and Senate seats will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd.

Bolinsky, has served his hometown as Newtown's conservative "Voice of Reason", in the single-town 106th House District since winning his first election, in November 2012.

A collaborative voice, Mitch looks forward to continue serving all the people in the 106th District . “I’m proud of what we have accomplished in Hartford but there is still much more to do,” he said. “I will keep fighting for our seniors, children, taxpayers and veterans, and for public safety in our communities. I'm also dedicated to slamming the brakes on the unaffordability crisis that's making it so hard to make ends meet for CT families. In my 14-years, I've never voted to raise state taxes, nuisance fees, and egregious 'hidden taxes', like the SHOCK of our August, 2024 electric bills, when ratepayers were extorted under the cover of imaginary, government created 'Emergency Orders' that hid unbudgeted spending in the "Public Benefits" part of our electric bills."

Upon the completion of the selection process, Bolinsky spoke to the Town Committee, expressing his gratitude to each and every member, saying: "Thank you, friends, for placing your confidence in my team again, for what will be an eighth term representing Newtown, the community my family has called home for 26-years! Serving this incredible community as its State Representative has been the most profound honor of my life."

"I never dreamt of a life in politics but, coming from the private-sector was actually a perfect way to begin what turned out to be my second successful career. After a fulfilling 30-year career in consumer-products marketing, new-product development and consumer-behavioral research, I initially declined an offer to run for office in 2012 until my wife and friends convinced me my skillset, ability to listen, & collaborate to find common sense solutions might be a refreshing change from politics as usual."

"They were right! Serving Newtown with integrity and without DC-style political polarization has helped me forge the kind of strategic relationships that get things done, and, my marketing mindset is appreciated by colleagues. For me, getting the job done is more important than mugging for cameras. It also positions me for coveted opportunities to work on priority bills in my leadership role on the legislature's Aging Committee, where our teams have earned state and national legislative achievement recognition in 3 of the last 4-years, highlighted by two "Governor's bills" & a "Speaker's bill".

Despite serving as a minority member of the House, Rep. Bolinsky's finger is on the pulse of the good, the bad, and the ugly of Hartford politics. His results are well documented, his smile is genuine, and he remains true to his marketing pedigree. It's a better way.

On Memorial Day Monday, State Representative Martin Foncello and I joined the men and women of Newtown's VFW Post 308 at their HQ on Freedom Defenders Way for a solemn commemoration among friends and family.

Thank you to outgoing Post Commander Phil Lombardo for hosting a moving ceremony, full of personal remembrances, and to all the warriors at Post 308.

May God Bless the men, women, and the families who gave them up, in the ultimate sacrifice, for the freedoms we hold dear in this, the Greatest Nation on earth.

T'was an eventful, reverent Memorial Day weekend here in Newtown! On Saturday, American Legion Post 202 Newtown, CT, the Legion Auxiliary, Sons, State Representative Martin Foncello, dozens more, and I didn't let a little rain get in the way of hosting their annual Memorial Day ceremonies indoors, at Newtown's Edmond Town Hall Theater.

Traditionally held outdoors at the beautiful Liberty & Freedom Monument, participants and hundreds of memorial luminaries were moved indoors. The luminaries were relocated to the monument on Sunday.

Photos include a 2025 view of luminaries at the monument and the cornerstone, engraved with the words shown in the first photo.

God bless the brave men & women who gave their all, for all of us.

This, and every Memorial Day, we remember the extraordinary Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their bravery secured the freedoms and opportunities we cherish today, and we owe them a debt that can never truly be repaid.

As Newtown families come together this weekend, let us take time to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and honor those who never came home. 🇺🇸

God Bless our soldiers and their families.

Super huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Latham's 4th-Grade Class from Newtown's St. Rose of Lima School for their annual class visit to the Connecticut State Capitol complex!
During their visit to our beautiful, historic seat of state government, built from 1871 to 1878, Marty Foncello State Rep 107th and I spoke to the class about legislative process, respectful deliberation, compromise, and how bills can become laws by majority vote passage, and the signature of the Office of Governor Ned Lamont.
We concluded with a very good question & answer session, then - every student got to pound the Speaker of the House's gavel, signifying the successful passage of their mock bills!
The annual visit from Mrs. Latham's 4th-Grade class is easily one of the very best days of the year for us in the Newtown Delegation!

Today and throughout National Police Week, we stand with the law enforcement officers especially our Newtown Police Department officers who work tirelessly to protect and serve Newtown and Sandy Hook. We also remember and honor those who gave their lives in the line of duty. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. 💙🖤

I’m reaching out to ask for your help and continued advocacy.

A bill that regulates homeschooling families has passed both the House and Senate of the Connecticut General Assembly, and I have serious concerns about the unnecessary burdens it places on families who are doing what’s best for their children.

I strongly urge you to contact Ned Lamont and ask him to veto this legislation.
Homeschooling has long been a successful and responsible choice for many Connecticut families. This bill risks overregulating that choice and undermining parental rights without clear benefit.

Your voice matters. Please take a moment to call or email the Governor’s office and respectfully ask for a veto.

Thank you for standing up for Connecticut families.
