Whether you’re interested in serving with our historic Rifle Company, joining our Color Guard, becoming a field musician with our Fife & Drum Corps, or simply learning more about Connecticut’s oldest, continuously serving military unit- this is a great opportunity to ask questions and see what we are all about.

For over 250 years, the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard has proudly represented the State of Connecticut through ceremonial service, community engagement, military tradition, & volunteerism.

A heartfelt thank you to the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company for once again welcoming the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard- along with our sister units- to participate in June Day in Boston.

It is always an honor to stand alongside organizations that share such a deep commitment to preserving history, tradition and military heritage. The hospitality, camaraderie, and respect shown throughout the day made for a truly memorable experience.

Events like June Day serve as an important reminder of the bonds between our historic units and the generations of service, sacrifice, and dedication that came before us. We are grateful for the opportunity to take part in this long standing tradition and to strengthen the friendships that connect our organizations.

Each June, the city of Boston comes alive with history, tradition, and military pageantry during the annual June Day celebration hosted by the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts- the oldest chartered military organization in North America, founded in 1638.

June Day is more than a ceremony; it is a celebration of service, sacrifice, fellowship, and the enduring traditions carried forward by historic military organizations for generations. It stands as a reminder that honoring the past helps preserve the spirit of patriotism and civic duty for the future.

The First Company Governor’s Foot Guard is deeply honored to once again take part in this distinguished yearly celebration alongside fellow historic military units and honored guests. To stand among organizations with such rich and storied histories is both a privilege and a reminder of the responsibility we share in preserving these traditions for future generations.

After a whirlwind of Memorial Day ceremonies across Connecticut, the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard is already preparing for the next tradition on the calendar- June Day in Boston.

From honoring the fallen and marching in remembrance, to continuing centuries old military and ceremonial traditions, our members remain proud to represent Connecticut with dedication, professionalism, and pride.

As we transition from Memorial Day observances into one of New England’s most historic celebrations, we look forward to once again taking part in this time-honored event alongside fellow historic military organizations.

This Memorial Day, we stand in solemn remembrance of those who never came home.

Their sacrifice gave generations of Americans the freedoms we so often take for granted. Behind every flag placed, every name remembered, and every moment of silence is a life given in service to this nation.

Today, the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard honors the fallen- not just as soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and guardians- but as sons, daughters, husbands, wives, friends, and heroes.
