City of Hartford awarded $800,000 Non-State Grant for Fire & Rescue Station #2
Hartford, WI — The City of Hartford has been awarded $800,000 through the Wisconsin Department of Administration Non-State Grant Program for the construction of Fire & Rescue Station #2, which was approved by the Wisconsin State Building Commission during its meeting on May 13th, 2026.
The grant funding was accepted by the Hartford Common Council for this purpose and will support construction for Station #2, a project designed to strengthen and improve the response capabilities of fire and emergency medical services for the City of Hartford and for the surrounding communities served by Hartford Fire & Rescue.
The new station project represents a significant investment in public safety infrastructure and will help ensure personnel have the needed space to continue providing high-quality fire and emergency medical care for years to come from two locations.
We would like to thank the City of Hartford Common Council, Mayor, and Administrator for their support of this grant to ensure that this needed project is completed. Members of Hartford Fire and Rescue serve as a vital resource for the area, providing 911 emergency responses to over 130 square miles of the surrounding area. The station will help meet the growing demands of service while enhancing operational efficiency, staff readiness, and long-term sustainability.
Additional project updates and timelines will be shared as the project moves forward.
