Cromaine Library has an update for anyone that uses the gravel lot off School Street, directly in front of the Early Childhood Center. Beginning Friday, August 28, it will be closed and will remain closed over time, for the development of the Cromaine Commons and Heritage Gardens.

During construction, limited street parking will still be available along School Street and Hartland Road, as well as in the Henry Street lot. Drop-off overflow parking is also available next to the Music Hall along George Street.

The gravel lot will become a new paved parking lot with a bus turnaround, and it’s all part of a much bigger project taking shape around the Library.

It is the last week to get your artwork submitted for hARTland Art Walk! Students, who completed K-12 in 2026, can enter one piece of art for FREE! The deadline for submissions is August 28. Get the entry form on the website under "Register" at https://www.hartlandartwalk.com/

We love to feature our local talent and can't wait to see these pieces displayed around town.

Hartland Consolidated Schools has their first day of school on Wednesday, August 19. Please be aware of students, buses, and extra traffic in the community!

We've been getting questions about the Crouse Road bridgework here at Township Hall. MDOT has provided us with an update this morning:

MDOT will have the temporary barrier wall pushed back tonight to allow both lanes to be open for the start of the school day tomorrow.

At 10 am tomorrow, the temporary barrier wall will be placed back and one lane will be open under flagging. This time will be used to pour the permanent barrier wall. They plan to be back open to two lanes by 2pm tomorrow at the latest.

Hoping this eases first day of school fears, but please plan to have a backup plan in place!
