GMLC represented. Thanks Nate and Barbara for being such great GMLC representatives, and wearing multiple hats of leading GMLC member libraries and speaking thoughtfully about libraries in VT!

We are so pleased to partner with VTLIB on this new endeavor!

VTLIB is pleased to announce that we have contracted with LYRASIS to provide free access to their Palace app to all Vermonters through their local public libraries! Read the press release here: https://libraries.vermont.gov/Palace

The Palace app (The Palace Project) aggregates eBook and eAudiobook content from multiple vendors into a single interface, increasing access, ease of use, and appeal. Palace will launch with a large collection of eBooks and eAudiobooks already in place. The Palace app will access content from Baker & Taylor as well as from Listen Up Vermont! (LUV), the statewide eBook and eAudiobook platform administered by the Green Mountain Library Consortium (GMLC).

We're looking forward to rolling out this product to Vermont public libraries over the next several months!

This project is made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Vermont Department of Libraries.

I’ve been the President of GMLC for years, and am so proud of the work we have accomplished with our amazing Board and librarian volunteers - building the first statewide catalog using Koha open source software, launching a statewide delivery service, offering Mango online language service, and offering the Overdrive digital book service to about 160 libraries across Vermont. These independent grocery stores are amazing for doing the Coins for Community program, if you are in the area, I encourage you to shop at them, and round up - those pennies are adding up allowing GMLC to buy more digital books to help increase our collection and reduce wait times for digital books, and keep people safe at home reading during this pandemic.

Support GMLC by rounding up when you are shopping at the following local grocery stores participating in the "Coins for Community" program: Jericho Market

Johnson’s Sterling Market

Richmond Market and Beverage

Shelburne Market

Village Market of Waterbury

Vista Newport

GMLC was chosen by AGN VT to receive 25% of the contributions from the pennies you round up through March at these indy grocers. We are delighted to be recognized along with the other amazing non-profits benefiting from this program this first quarter of 2021!

The long winter nights are the perfect time to sit by the fire and read a good book. And with help from the Green Mountain Library Consortium you can get a book without leaving the house.
