Swallow's renowned educational history began on the same piece of property in 1844 when the original one-room schoolhouse was constructed by community members across the street from the school's current location. Rebuilt due to an expanding community circa 1857 and again in our current location in 1894, the Swallow School District remains a pillar of our community more than 175 years later. From t
he early days when students helped to tutor one another in reading, social studies, and arithmetic in a one room schoolhouse to today when students receive additional instruction in the areas of Spanish, music, physical education, art, science, and engineering, we are proud of the rich traditions of academic excellence, collaboration between all members of the school community, and strong parental involvement. As the community has grown, there have been several additions renovations to the building and upgrades to the facilities to support the current enrollment of 450 students. There is tremendous pride by all staff in the commitment to ensure all students are prepared for the changing demands of future readiness and that our curriculum and instructional techniques meet the needs of all learners. The Swallow School District is one of the top performing school districts in the state of Wisconsin and nation.
