From murals honoring Lunar New Year and Black History Month to recycled bottle cap flowers, rainbow installations, mandalas, and soaring zendoodle birds, students across Greenburgh discovered that art is about more than creating something beautiful. It is about storytelling, collaboration, reflection, and leaving a piece of yourself behind.

Guided by ArtsWestchester resident artist Candace Winter, students explored new ideas, celebrated their communities, and transformed hallways and shared spaces into lasting reminders of their creativity and imagination.

As another school year comes to a close, these projects will remain behind to inspire those who follow. After all, every flower is different, and every student has something beautiful to contribute.

Woodlands thespians earned the spotlight among the region's brightest stars at the 2026 Metropolitan High School Theatre Awards at SUNY Purchase Performing Arts Center. WMHS staged Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief this Spring.

Congratulations to Donovan Russell, who took to the METRO stage as a nominee for Outstanding Performance in a Leading, Male-Identified Role for Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief. We also proudly celebrate senior Elizabeth Kreitzberg and eighth-grader Samuel Weintraub, who, alongside Donovan, earned nominations for Outstanding Performance of a Small Group Number. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Surrounded by fellow theatre students, families, and directors, our theatrical Falcons represented Woodlands with talent and heart, while cheering on the other nominees. "Our students knew several of the schools and people being honored; it is a testament to them that they were as encouraging of other productions' nominees as of their own," said Hillary Johnson, director of this year’s Drama Club production. "Bravi to Donovan, Elizabeth and Sam!" πŸ’šπŸŽβœ¨

πŸŒŽπŸ“šπŸŽ€ Sixth-grade students recently showcased their International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition projects, demonstrating the research, critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills they have developed throughout their elementary years.

From mental health and wellness to coding, the arts, and athletics, students explored topics of personal interest, conducted significant research, and shared their learning with fourth- and fifth-grade students, families, and staff through presentations and interactive demonstrations.

The PYP Exhibition is a powerful example of IB learning in action, challenging students not only to investigate meaningful questions, but also to teach others and apply their knowledge in authentic ways. Congratulations to our sixth graders on an impressive celebration of learning! πŸ‘βœ¨

It was standing room only at Lee F. Jackson as families gathered to celebrate one of childhood's sweetest milestones: the end of kindergarten.

From colorful scarves dancing through the air and rhythm sticks keeping the beat to songs about growing older and looking ahead to first grade, students filled the room with joy and enthusiasm as they shared just how much they've grown during their first year of elementary school.

Before families departed, Ms. Lutz offered one final note of gratitude, thanking them for their support and for being "the best audience always."

Congratulations to our kindergarteners on a wonderful performance and a memorable first year of elementary school. First grade awaits! πŸŽΆπŸŒΌπŸ’› Read more: www.greenburghcsd.org/apps/news/article/2207825

Today we celebrate Flag Day, honoring the Stars and Stripes as a symbol of our nation's history, ideals, and unity.

As we reflect on the values represented by our flag, we also celebrate the diverse voices, cultures, and experiences that strengthen our school community every day.

Together, we continue to learn, grow, and soar toward a brighter future.

More than 250 students, families, and community members came together for Greenburgh Central Schools' Fourth Annual Night of Summer Fun SELebration, an evening that celebrated the district's ongoing commitment to social-emotional learning and student wellness.

Through interactive activities, summer learning resources, and opportunities for connection, families experienced firsthand how social-emotional learning supports student success both in and out of the classroom. Strong family understanding and involvement are essential partners in this work, helping to reinforce the skills and relationships that allow students to thrive.

Thank you to our staff, student volunteers, community partners, and organizations who helped make this special tradition another outstanding success. Read more about this special event here: https://edl.io/n2207571
