City of Hartselle - Local Government Whether you are a first time visitor or a current resident, I believe you will find Hartselle a great place to visit or reside.

Situated on the edge of the Cumberland Plateau and the Highland Ridge, Hartselle Alabama is located along Interstate 65 within the Decatur metropolitan Region, and 35 miles from the high tech city of Huntsville, Alabama. We have friendly people; a school system rated as one of the best in the state, a low crime rate, quality health care services, and a unique downtown full of antique and specialty shops.

BIG NEWS for Hartselle Police Department! 🚓

Hartselle is receiving $300,000 in federal community project funding to strengthen the tools our police officers use every day to serve and protect our community.

The funding will allow the Hartselle Police Department to purchase:
🚨21 vehicle camera systems
🚨40 handheld radios
🚨21 mobile radios

This will give officers updated technology and improve communication with neighboring law enforcement agencies across Morgan County— helping ensure our officers stay connected when it matters most.

It’s a significant outside investment in Hartselle, secured by U.S. Rep. Dale Strong. We appreciate Congressman Strong’s support of this important project and his commitment to our law enforcement officers. 🚓

Another successful evening of FY2027 Community Funding presentations! 🎉

Mayor Evans and City Council had the opportunity to hear from several local nonprofit and community organizations about the programs and services they provide for Hartselle residents.

These presentations provide an important opportunity for City leaders to learn more about the services, programs, and resources available to Hartselle citizens while ensuring transparency and accountability as funding decisions are considered during the FY2027 budget process.

We are grateful for the nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and community advocates who work every day to help make our city a stronger, healthier, and more connected community for all!

Last night, local community organizations presented to the Mayor and City Council as part of Hartselle's FY2027 Community Funding Review.

As the City prepares its FY2027 budget, these presentations help City leaders better understand the programs, services, and impact provided by our nonprofit partners while promoting transparency and accountability in the use of taxpayer dollars.

We're incredibly fortunate to have community organizations that dedicate their time, talent, and resources to serving Hartselle residents. Their work makes a difference every day, and we're grateful for the role they play in helping make Hartselle a great place to live, work, and raise a family!
