Across South Carolina, many EMS agencies rely on volunteers to respond to emergencies in their communities. These individuals step into high-pressure situations, often after a full day of work, to make sure care is available when it’s needed.

Volunteer EMS professionals are a vital part of the system, especially in rural areas where resources are limited.

This week, we recognize the role they play in keeping communities covered.

On this day 68 years ago Hartsville Rescue Squad ran its 1st call after just becoming certified in first aid. We have come a long way and are still here and happy to serve!!
