This Monday, The Health Council and the Mayor's Mental Health and Substance Abuse Task Force will take a proposal to the Budget and Finance Committee and County Commission to use federal American Rescue Plan money to fund providing services in Hartsville. The Health Council will work with Volunteer Behavioral Health to open an office in Hartsville for counseling. This effort also encompasses su***de prevention.

If you or a family member have suffered from mental health or substance abuse, or have lost someone to su***de, please come to support this effort on Monday, August 22nd at 6:00 and 7:00pm at the Trousdale County Courthouse, 200 East Main Street, Hartsville.

It was good to meet the new Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Stuart McWhorter, this morning. I enjoyed his thoughts on the economic outlook for Northern Middle Tennessee and how the Department will adapt to assist counties.
