Black History Month, Today & Every Day.

This week we’re proud to highlight Lieutenant Tenyonde Richardson, whose dedication to protecting and serving our city reflects the leadership, integrity, and commitment that strengthen our community every single day. Through his work in community outreach, Lieutenant Richardson helps build trust, connection, and unity across Hartsville.

Black History Month is a time to honor the impact and contributions of Black leaders across generations. Here in Hartsville, we celebrate that impact not just in February, but all year long.

Today and every day, we’re grateful for those who serve, lead, and care for Hartsville.

Black History Month, Today & Every Day.

As we get ready to celebrate love this Valentine’s Day, we’re also taking time to celebrate the strength, leadership, creativity, and heart of Black history right here in Hartsville.

Black History Month is a time to honor the stories that have shaped our community, but it’s something we value all year long. From trailblazers to everyday changemakers, it’s the people beside us, supporting one another, who make Hartsville what it is.

This month and every month, we celebrate history, resilience, friendship, and love.

Officers delivered boxes primarily as a follow up to someone in need.
Listen to one of their stories of impact from 2025.
A woman was discharged from a hospital after being denied a spot in a nursing home, officers gave her a box of Greg’s Groceries and made sure she had a hotel to stay the night at. Officers also worked to find her a place in a nearby shelter.
