Thank you, Duke Energy Foundation, for continuing to support United Way of Greater Hartsville and many other non-profits serving communities in South Carolina. Thank you, Lauren Griggs, for stopping by our office on Wednesday to present this grant to our Executive Director, Amy Morris.

This grant will allow UWGH, through our Home Repair Program, to complete up to four additional roof replacements or a combination of several roof, ADA bathroom, and heating repairs.

We love sharing these photos because they give you a glimpse of your generosity at work!

Barbara Ford, School Community Facilitator at Darlington High School, stopped by on Tuesday to pick up the first load of backpacks and supplies for students who need them this school year.

Now that the new school year is underway, our Middle and High School Facilitators, Counselors, Teachers, and Administrators are keeping an eye out for students who may not have the backpacks, school supplies, or basic tools they need to succeed.

When they identify a student in need, they check in with them discreetly to learn what they need and then reach out to us. From there, we do our best to provide the backpacks and supplies that help those students feel prepared and supported as they begin the school year.

Our goal is simple: to help every student have the tools they need to be prepared, confident, and successful.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to UWGH and helped make this possible. Your generosity is reaching local students in ways that truly matter!

And a special thank-you to Barbara and all of our school staff for looking out for their students and making sure those who need a little extra support don't go unnoticed.
