⚠️ SCAM ALERT ⚠️

We are aware of scam text messages circulating claiming to be from the Georgia State Patrol regarding outstanding violations, fines, or enforcement actions tied to your vehicle.

The Georgia State Patrol will NEVER contact you by text message demanding payment, threatening arrest, or asking you to click a link regarding violations or official correspondence.

Before clicking any links, sharing personal information, or sending money:
• Contact the agency directly using an official phone number or website
• Verify any claims independently
• Never trust unsolicited payment requests by text

Scams like these are becoming increasingly common and are designed to create panic and urgency.

Protect yourself. Slow down, verify first, and when in doubt contact the agency directly.

The Hartwell Police Department was proud to participate in the Hart County Head Start/EHS 4th Annual Car Show and Touch-A-Truck Event, held in partnership with the City of Hartwell as we continue celebrating "Georgia Cities Week!"

This event provided a great opportunity for our officers to connect with the heart of our community, our young scholars and the kids of tomorrow.

We truly enjoyed spending time with the children, families, and educators who make our community so special. Events like this help build trust, strengthen relationships, and inspire the next generation.

A special thank you to our community sponsors and our local and state public safety partners for helping make this event a success. Your continued support means a great deal to our department and the community we serve.

The Hartwell Police Department remains committed to being visible, engaged, and invested in our community’s future.

Together, we are building safer, stronger relationships one connection at a time.

The Hartwell Police Department was honored to participate in the Safe Driving Summit at Hart County High School, in partnership with the Lutzie 43 Foundation and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

Students took part in breakout sessions focused on making smart, responsible decisions behind the wheel especially the dangers of distracted driving.

A key takeaway from the day was the “43 Key Seconds”: Clear Head, Clear Hands, Clear Eyes, Click It!

With prom season approaching, we want to remind everyone safe driving saves lives. The choices you make in just seconds can have lifelong impacts.

The Hartwell Police Department remains committed to working with our schools and community to promote safety and responsibility on our roadways.

Be safe. Stay alert. Make it home.
