The Red Knights do so much more than ride motorcycles. They are made up of firefighters, their families, and supporters who work to promote motorcycle safety, support the fire service, and give back to those in need. Their fundraising and charitable efforts make a real difference in communities across the area.

🚒🔥 HARTWICK FIRE DEPARTMENT COMPANY #1 AT THE OTSEGO COUNTY FAIR! 🔥🚒

Wednesday night, the members of Hartwick Fire Department Company #1 were proud to participate in the Firemen’s Parade at the Otsego County Fair! 🎡🇺🇸

It was a great evening to get out in the community, show off our apparatus, and represent the Town of Hartwick alongside fellow fire departments from across Otsego County.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out along the parade route and supported our volunteer firefighters! Your support means so much to us and helps keep volunteer fire departments strong. ❤️🖤

🚒 HARTWICK FIRE DEPARTMENT COMPANY #1 — SERVING OUR COMMUNITY 🚒

Tonight, our members participated in a work-detail drill at Husky Park, putting our equipment and manpower to work for more than just an emergency response.

Our members spent the evening cleaning and washing down the basketball court for the Town of Hartwick and its residents. 💦🏀

Being a firefighter isn't only about responding when the tones drop. It’s also about giving back, taking pride in our community, and doing the little things that help make Hartwick a great place to live, work, and play.

We are proud of our members who continue to step up, work hard, and volunteer their time to make a difference — on and off the emergency scene.

A huge thank you to our members for putting in the work tonight! Your dedication to the Hartwick community does not go unnoticed. ❤️‍🔥

Today, we celebrate the spirit of independence, community, and the freedoms we are proud to protect.

On this Fourth of July, we extend our gratitude to all who serve—past and present—and to the members of our community who continue to support one another every day. Whether you are gathering with family, enjoying a local event, or simply taking a moment to reflect, we hope your day is filled with pride and appreciation for what this day represents.

As you celebrate, please remember to stay safe:
• Use fireworks responsibly and follow local laws and safety guidelines.
• Keep a safe distance from any open flames.
• Never leave grills or campfires unattended.
• Ensure to obtain a designated driver if alcohol is involved.

We are excited to share that the Hartwick Fire Department Emergency Squad has officially taken delivery of our new 2025 Ford Transit ambulance!

While this new rig is not yet in service, we wanted to give our community a first look and celebrate this important addition to our fleet. This ambulance represents our continued commitment to providing reliable, high-quality emergency care to the residents we serve.

We invite you to come see it up close during Hartwick Field Day on July 25th, where we will be hosting an open house. Stop by, meet our members, check out the new ambulance, and learn more about what we do.

🚒 SHE’S BACK IN SERVICE! 🚒

Just in time for Memorial Day, Hartwick Fire Department Company #1 officially welcomed Brush Truck 0851 back into the fleet this morning!

We celebrated its return with a traditional "push-in" ceremony, followed by a quick bath to get it shining bright for the parade.

Fire apparatus represent massive capital investments funded by our taxpayers. To maximize your investment, this vehicle underwent a complete remodel. The team at TNT Body King (411 Old Niskayuna Road, Latham, NY) did a phenomenal job equipping the truck with brand-new utility body parts to ensure it serves our community safely and efficiently for years to come.

THANK YOU to our incredible community members and the Town for supporting this project and making it possible. Your investment keeps our team safe and ready.

A special thank you goes out to Ron Clegg and Kevin Ray for the countless hours they personally invested in overseeing this remodel and getting this truck line-ready. We appreciate your dedication!

From cardiac monitors and trauma supplies to specialized lifting equipment, we maintain our fleet to the highest standards.
