Storm Drain: 0

Big shoutout to Sergeant Spielman and Officer Peters for today’s “quack” response call! After a group of adventurous ducklings found themselves trapped in a storm drain, our officers jumped into action and safely rescued the entire fluffy crew.

Armed with teamwork and patience, the ducklings were reunited safely with their mama who was overseeing the entire operation close by. Once rescued the family waddled on their way. 💕

Great work by our officers for proving that no call is too small when it comes to protecting our community — even the feathered residents! 🐥👏

The dog has been reunited with its owner.

Is anyone missing their dog? We have her here at the police department. She was found running loose in the 1000 block of O’Brien St. She does not have a chip.

National Police Week is a time to recognize the dedication, sacrifice, and service of law enforcement officers across our nation. Behind every badge is a person willing to answer difficult calls, work long nights, miss holidays and family time, and face challenges that most people never see.

The Harvard Police Department is proud to stand beside our brothers and sisters in blue who serve their communities each and every day. This week, we especially honor and remember the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, as well as the families, friends, and agencies who continue to carry that loss.
