🌱🐾📚 A little bit of everything happening in 2nd Grade with Miss Karla!

From exploring plants and animals in their habitats 🌱🐻 during Benchmark Unit 1, to strengthening their understanding of tens and hundreds 🔟💯 through fun and engaging games, our students are learning in so many different ways! 🎲🧩

And of course… a little Letter Bingo! 🔤🎉 because learning letters is even more fun when it feels like a game!

We also love seeing students take ownership of their classroom. 🧺✨ After each activity, they know exactly where the materials belong and help keep everything organized and ready for the next learning adventure! 📚💛

🌱🐾 Desde explorar las plantas y los animales en su hábitat durante la Unidad 1 de Benchmark, hasta reforzar las decenas y centenas 🔟💯 a través de juegos divertidos y actividades dinámicas, ¡nuestros alumnos están aprendiendo de muchísimas maneras diferentes! 🎲🧩

Y, por supuesto… ¡un poquito de Bingo de las letras! 🔤🎉 Porque aprender las letras es mucho más divertido cuando parece un juego.

Our little learners explore the Puppet Theater 🎭, Reading Corner 📚, Construction 🧱, Dollhouse 🏠, Pretend Play Kitchen 👩‍🍳, Puzzles 🧩, Painting & Writing 🎨✏️, Light Table ✨, and more!

Through play, children build creativity, independence, problem-solving skills, communication, and confidence — all while having fun! 💛

✨🏫 Our First Week of Pre-K 🏫✨

The first week of school always feels a little special… 💛🥹 A mix of excitement, nervousness, new faces, new experiences, and so many little discoveries. 🌈👀✨

This week, we began to build our new home away from home. 🏫🏠💛 We explored our classroom 🧸📚, discovered our new school and facilities 🚪👣, met our new teachers 👩🏻‍🏫👨🏻‍🏫, and started learning our new daily routines. ⏰🧼📋

Each day, we took little steps: 🎨🖍️ playing together 🧩, sharing 🤝, listening 👂, learning 📚, cleaning up 🧺, taking turns ⏳, and slowly beginning to feel more comfortable and confident in our new space. 🥰🌱

Behind every “I did it!” 🙌, every new friendship 👫, every smile 😊, and every little achievement 🌟 is a big process of growing, learning, and adjusting. 💕🌱

And watching our little learners become more confident 💪🥰, feel safe and supported 🤍, and begin to feel that this is “our classroom” 🏫💛 is truly one of the most beautiful parts of starting a new school year. ✨

This first week wasn’t about doing everything perfectly… 🌱
It was about getting to know one another 🤍, feeling safe 🫶, learning how to be together 🤝, and beginning to build our little classroom community. 🏫🌈👫

And this… ✨ is only the beginning! ✨

We have a whole year ahead filled with learning 📚, adventures 🌎, play 🧸, laughter 😂, discoveries 🔎, and memories we will cherish. 💕📸🌟

✨🏫 Nuestra primera semana de Pre-K 🏫✨

La primera semana siempre tiene algo especial… 💛🥹 Una mezcla de ilusión, nervios, nuevas caras, nuevas experiencias y muchos pequeños descubrimientos. 🌈👀✨

Esta semana hemos empezado a construir nuestro nuevo hogar lejos de casa. 🏫🏠💛 Hemos conocido nuestro salón 🧸📚, explorado las nuevas instalaciones 🚪👣, conocido a nuestros nuevos maestros 👩🏻‍🏫👨🏻‍🏫 y comenzado a descubrir nuestras nuevas rutinas ⏰🧼📋.

Cada día hemos ido dando pequeños pasos: 🎨🖍️ jugar juntos 🧩, compartir 🤝, escuchar 👂, aprender 📚, recoger 🧺, esperar nuestro turno ⏳ y, poco a poco, sentirnos más cómodos y seguros en este nuevo espacio. 🥰🌱

Detrás de cada “¡lo conseguí!” 🙌, cada nuevo amigo 👫, cada sonrisa 😊 y cada pequeño logro 🌟 hay un enorme proceso de adaptación y crecimiento. 💕🌱

Y ver cómo nuestros pequeños van ganando confianza 💪🥰, sintiéndose seguros 🤍 y empezando a sentir que este es “nuestro salón” 🏫💛 es, sin duda, una de las partes más bonitas de comenzar un nuevo curso. ✨

Esta primera semana no se trataba de hacerlo todo perfecto… 🌱
Se trataba de conocernos 🤍, sentirnos seguros 🫶, aprender a estar juntos 🤝 y empezar a crear nuestra pequeña comunidad. 🏫🌈👫

Y esto… ✨ ¡es solo el principio! ✨

Nos espera un año lleno de aprendizajes 📚, aventuras 🌎, juegos 🧸, risas 😂, descubrimientos 🔎 y momentos que guardaremos con mucho cariño. 💕📸🌟

🌼✨ Welcome to the Daisies’ Kindergarten classroom at Crosby Elementary! ✨

We are off to a great start! 💛 These first weeks are all about learning routines, expectations, independence, and classroom community. ⏰ Timers help us know how much time we have, when it’s time to clean up, and when to move on.

💃 We LOVE to dance and learn! We also enjoy flexible seating, with fun chairs and different seating options that make our classroom a little more exciting! 🪑✨

🎨 Our learning centers are color-coded:
🔵 ELA | 🔴 SLA | 🟡 Math | 🟠 PBL | 🟢 Science

During ELA & SLA with Miss Miguel, we are practicing pre-writing strokes ✏️, names, shapes, letters, ❤️ Heart Words, and fine-motor skills through fun activities with Play-Doh and scissors! ✂️👐

We learn, create, dance, and have SO much fun! 🌼💃📚

And we are so lucky to have our amazing ESP, Mrs. Jamie, learning and dancing alongside us! 💛

With the first day of school just around the corner on Aug. 12, our Crosby community is buzzing with excitement. This year, that excitement includes some new faces!

We're thrilled to welcome our new teachers and staff to Crosby Elementary! Join us in giving them a warm welcome. Our students are lucky to have them, and our community is stronger because they're here.

🚗 Crosby Families: New Car Rider Tags Needed!

Heading back to school means a fresh start, including a brand-new car rider tag for every student! All Crosby Elementary students are required to have a new tag each school year.

Grab yours now: Stop by the main office anytime Monday–Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Can't make it this week? No problem! Tags will be ready for pickup right in your child's classroom during Meet and Greet on Aug. 11.
