Earlier today, June 13, 2026, Harvard Fire-EMS was dispatched for a reported drowning incident. Ambulance 2, along with Harvard Police Department and Bolton Fire-EMS paramedics, responded to the scene. While en route, Ambulance 2 requested UMass Life Flight to respond to the Still River Road landing zone.
Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, the patient had already been removed from the water and was breathing. The crew of Engine 1 established and secured the landing zone for the incoming helicopter. During our care the patient became conscious and alert. Out of an abundance of caution, the patient was transported by UMass LifeFlight to UMass Memorial Medical Center for further evaluation and care.
We are pleased to report that we received an update this afternoon indicating the patient is in excellent condition.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of water safety and the rapid, coordinated response provided by our public safety partners.
