May 2026 Run Stats

May was another busy and productive month for your Harvest Volunteers. While emergency responses remain our primary mission, our members also dedicated time to training and professional development. From firemanship skills and driver training to EMS education and hands-on drills, your Harvest Volunteers remained dedicated to building their skillset. We also enjoyed our time with the community during the Summer Reading Kick-Off event, which allowed us to strengthen relationships between our department and the citizens who support us.

🚨 Structure Fire🚨
At approximately 11:35am on 5/31/2026, your Harvest Volunteers responded as automatic aid into the 100 block of Teresa Dr in our second due area for reports of a storage building on fire with multiple explosions. First arriving units from Monrovia Volunteer Fire-Rescue reported a large storage building with heavy fire conditions showing. Multiple hoselines were stretched as crews from Monrovia, Harvest and Toney Volunteer Fire & Rescue worked from the exterior to get the fire under control. Approximately 180,000 gallons of water used. All units clear and back in service.

🚨 Vehicle Fire🚨
At approximately 19:41pm on 5/24/2026, your Harvest Volunteers responded to reports of a single vehicle on fire at the FX gas station in the 6300 block of Hwy 53. Toney Volunteer Fire & Rescue was dispatched as mutual aid due to reports that the fire was threatening structures. Members from both departments quickly got to work stretching hoselines and knocking down the fire. Approximately 900 gallons of water used. All units clear and back in service.

**Promotion Announcement**
Please join us in congratulating Tim Blake on his promotion to the rank of Deputy Chief for the Harvest Volunteer Fire Department.
Deputy Chief Blake has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to serving both our department and the community.
In his new role, Deputy Chief Blake will continue helping lead the department forward while supporting daily operations, training initiatives, and emergency response efforts. His professionalism and passion for the fire service make him an excellent fit for this position.

Company Training

Last night, your Harvest Volunteers were out in the streets working on Engine and Truck Company operations. This training focused on crew riding assignments, apparatus placement, estimating the stretch, bulk bed hose deployment, and maximizing the Truck scrub area. We also had the pleasure of meeting several members of the Harvest community as they watched the drills.

April 2026 Run Stats

April was our busiest month to date, highlighting the continued climb in emergency services demands across our area. Alongside the increased emergency call volume, your Harvest Volunteers remained committed to sharpening their skills through in house hands-on training and completing Alabama Fire College certifications.
We’re proud of the dedication shown by our members and thankful for the continued support from our community.
