Today, Harvey Volunteer Fire Department crews tackled a stubborn fire inside an old tree sparked by a lightning strike.

It was a great day for "boots-on-the-ground" training! Our newest rookies got some excellent hands-on experience, sharpening their skills in chainsaw operations and fireground tactics alongside our veteran members.
Proud of the hard work from our team today.

Stay safe, Harvey!

The Harvey Volunteer Fire Company #2 is pleased to announce the integration of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) into our emergency response toolkit. By deploying a department-certified pilot and drone technology, we are now able to obtain critical, high-altitude perspectives of active fire scenes from a safe distance.

This aerial vantage point provides our incident commanders with real-time situational awareness, allowing for more strategic resource deployment and enhanced safety for our personnel on the ground.

While we are currently utilizing equipment provided by our certified pilot, the department is actively pursuing the procurement of a dedicated UAS to establish a permanent aerial operations program. We look forward to utilizing this technology to better serve and protect our community.
