Whittier School kickstarted the year with its Back-to-School Book Bag Giveaway, distributing school supplies and community resources to students and parents. Special thanks go to the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., who helped sponsor the event.

Next was the Wildcat Open House, where board member Ms. Casey Nesbit proudly represented Whittier Wildcat spirit and welcomed new students and families. Principal Mrs. Dowling encouraged her students to aim for success, as parents heard expectations from the teachers. Harvey 152 is eager to see the best from our Whittier students.

Harvey 152's Open House season had concluded! Brooks Middle School hosted a successful event, inviting parents, grandparents, and the community to see all the new décor and amenities available to students this year. Principal Mr. Gronbach proudly welcomed parents to visit the new lecture hall, equipped with state-of-the-art features.

We have welcomed parents, set clear expectations, and outlined our goals. Our Superintendent, Dr. Nichols, along with the Administrative leadership team, was present to support and generate excitement for the upcoming year.

Harvey 152 Community Announcements: NO IN-PERSON SCHOOL TOMORROW!

Reminder: Tomorrow, Friday, September 4th, is an E-Learning Day for all students. Students should have received E-Learning instructions and login information.

Additionally, there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day. Have a great E-Learning Day on Friday, September 4th, and a Happy Labor Day!

Welcome Week was in full swing as Angelou, Bryant, and Holmes Schools welcomed parents back for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents heard from our Principals, Assistant Principals, and Teachers as they outlined expectations and goals for the upcoming year.

Harvey 152 Board President Janet Rogers, our new Superintendent Dr. Nichols, and other administrative leaders attended to support each school. Additionally, the City of Harvey 6th Ward Alderman Tyrone Rogers showed support by presenting a perfect attendance contest for Bryant School students.

Up next week is Whittier School and Brooks Middle School.
