🚀 Jefferson Parish, get ready! STEM Fest is coming your way for the first time!

Jefferson Parish STEM Fest will mark STEM NOLA’s first STEM Fest on the Westbank and the first sponsored by Jefferson Parish.

Students in grades K through 12 can explore more than 60 FREE hands on STEM activities, including robotics, engineering, virtual reality, interactive science experiments and more.

Eighth grader Keynni Garcia has been part of the John James Audubon School community since pre-k. He enjoys the close school environment, where students and staff know one another and are always willing to help.

Math is Keynni’s favorite subject, and his hard work has earned him a spot in honors math. He also enjoys helping classmates when they need extra support. Outside the classroom, Keynni plans to participate in basketball, baseball, Climate Club, and Student Council, where he hopes to run for president.

Keynni understands that being a student athlete means putting academics first. His goal is to become a professional baseball player, but he also has plans beyond sports. He is interested in learning HVAC and one day continuing his father’s business.

Most of all, Keynni wants others to know they can count on him. He takes pride in being someone his classmates can talk to and someone who is always willing to help.

Throughout the day, we are sharing our Early Childhood Team visiting child care centers across Jefferson Parish to deliver grant funding made possible by the incredible businesses that supported last year’s Workforce Child Care Tax Credit campaign!

These BIG checks represent so much more than dollars, they represent businesses investing directly in our youngest learners, early childhood educators, and the child care programs that help keep Jefferson Parish families working and thriving.
And today, we’re officially kicking off our new campaign!

Thanks to businesses supporting the Workforce Child Care Tax Credit, early childhood centers across Jefferson Parish have been able to purchase educational materials, improve classrooms and learning spaces, enhance security and provide resources that directly benefit our youngest learners.

These investments also support the educators caring for our children and give working families greater access to quality early learning. When families have access to quality child care, we strengthen our families, our workforce and Jefferson Parish.

ICYMI: 🏈 Patrick F. Taylor Science & Technology Academy football players got a major surprise from the New Orleans Saints and American Safety LLC: 65 brand new Riddell Sports SpeedFlex helmets valued at $25,000!

And the surprise got even bigger! Saints legends Rickey Jackson and Devery Henderson were there for the special reveal and to celebrate with the Tigers.
The new helmets will help keep our student athletes safe and ready as they take the field this season.
