The time to VOTE is getting closer and I just want to add a little more information about myself and why I am running for County Commissioner.
I am the fourth generation to own and operate the family farm north of Harveyville, we manage a commercial cow/calf and haying operation. I have been very active with leadership roles in our local 4-H Club, Mission Valley FFA, and I have held positions on the Wabaunsee County Fair Board and have assisted with being a Superintendent at the fair. I have shown support for our communities by investing in the Eskridge Lumber Company, and have been a part of many fund raising endeavors.
I retired from Frito-Lay after 34 years so I could dedicate more time to the farm. This will also allow time for me to take an active role for our communities. I have attended many local government meetings as well as the County Commissioner meetings to grow my knowledge. I will use my agriculture and business background to help with the decisions that need to be made for the county.
I will be a voice for the small communities and rural areas in District #2 as your concerns are my number one priority. The district covers many rural areas that include Harveyville, Eskridge, and Lake Wabaunsee. It is our responsibility to allocate the county’s tax dollars as effectively as possible so that we don’t continue to raise taxes. It is important to keep the roads and bridges in working condition for the residents and to make sure the distribution of funds includes improvements to District # 2.
