On Thursday, September 17, 2026, we will be conducting Operation Safe Return, a scheduled Active Threat Safety Exercise at Giles School, 4251 N Oriole, Norridge, IL 60706.
This exercise will involve multiple jurisdictions and public safety agencies, so residents may notice an increased police and fire presence in the area, including squad cars and personnel from neighboring communities. There may also be temporary street closures nearby.
This is a planned training exercise and NOT a real emergency.
Exercises like this allow our police officers, firefighters, dispatchers, schools, and partner agencies to train together before an emergency ever happens.
