I'm really curious. I understand that the 'emergency contact' robo caller you use was set up in the event of an emergency. What I cannot, for the life of me, understand is how sending out a robocall about the drive through Santa event is considered an emergency. I've asked multiple times to have my number removed from the robocall list and have been told I need to call the police station for that. Honestly, you're all in the same building. Maybe you could set up a system where we can remove ourselves without having to make multiple calls to get off the list. It would also be nice if we wouldn't then be required to add our phone number back onto your list when paying our water bill online.
I wonder if there is anything the village can or would be willing to do about the minefield of dog crap that's being left on the sidewalk in front of several homes between Newland and Sayre along Montrose Avenue of late. As a responsible dog owner, who always has a bag with me when I walk my dog, I really resent having to step around the mess that someone has decided to leave because they don't care, are too lazy, or both. I have a suspicion who it might be because it was never a problem until new people with a black cocker spaniel and pitbull moved into the neighborhood. Could we put a camera somewhere to catch them in the act? It would be nice to put an end to this problem.
Any reason why they automatically put us on the robocall list???? Got one today and I never agreed to be put on the list. I understand the need for emergencies, but I really couldn't care less about the community center.
I saw a video today of a citizen's interaction with 2 police officers, dated July 15, 2020. Here is the Police's Philosophy: Policing Philosophy The Mission of the Harwood Heights Police Department, in cooperation with our community, is to protect life and property, and enhance the quality of life for all of our citizens. To accomplish this mission, we hold the following values that guide our work and decisions to be true and non-negotiable: Human Life: We revere human life and dignity above all else. Respect: We respect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the department and community that we serve and protect. We strive for sensitivity to, and an understanding of this diversity. Integrity: We believe that integrity is the basis for personal and public trust. Constitution and Laws: We believe in the principles embodied in the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Illinois. We recognize the authority of federal, state and local laws. Excellence: We strive for personal and professional excellence, dedication to duty, and service to the public. Accountability: We are accountable to each other and to the citizens we serve, who are the sources of our authority. Cooperation: We believe that cooperation among ourselves, members of the community, governmental entities and other law enforcement agencies will enable us to combine our diverse backgrounds, skills and styles to achieve common goals. Ourselves: We are capable, caring people who perform important and satisfying work for our community. Problem Solving: We are most effective in our work when we identify and solve problems. In this way, we not only help the community we serve and protect, but we make the Harwood Heights Police Department more efficient and responsive. In this interaction, I did not see the police revere human life, nor human dignity. Neither respect, sensitivity or integrity. I saw no adherence to any laws by the officers, not by the clerical staff, except a bloated ego. I did see excellence in violating a citizens rights to have access to public records in peace. To call yourselves caring is the joke of the year, you were vindictive, spiteful and acting in bad faith under the color of law. You pay absolute lip service to your lofty philosophy
So, I'm curious. I notice there is an available sign at the former Old Warsaw location. Does this mean the PDQ is NOT coming to Harwood Heights? If not Hooray. We don't really need another chicken place. Looking forward to hearing back. Thanks.
So, what is the Mayor's Chinese flu plan? When will it be posted on their webpage?
Thank you to this wonderful village, it's administration, employees and residents. No matter where I may reside, Harwood Heights will always be my home. Lots of love to all of you!

I wonder, what is the Village going to do about the RAT situation???? This week alone I've already spotted a rat walking through my yard twice and NO TRAPS IN THE ALLEY. What a sh*thole Harwood Heights is becoming. I guess 'green alleys' are much more important. Rodent control, even if we don't keep our garbage open, is not enough of a project for our illustrious Mayor. We have small children and pets in the neighborhood. Maybe we need to start laying poison ourselves since they can't seem to get this right.
https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/norridge/news/ct-nhh-pdq-project-review-tl-0823-story.html I don't know why Harwood Heights would give a rat's ass about more traffic. Wouldn't more traffic = more tickets/extortion?
If any of the Harwood Heights Residents can read my story about my 2 year old son who has Autism. We are being evicted because my son is autistic. Thank you all and god bless https://www.gofundme.com/f8h9gg-fighting-for-my-family&rcid=r01-153504209958-362d534959c24918&pc=ot_co_campmgmt_w.
