🐾🚔 UPDATE: OUR TEMPORARY FELINE PATROL OFFICER! 🚔🐾

We’re happy to share some wonderful news about the sweet cat who was abandoned at St. Rosalie’s Church!

During his brief assignment as the Harwood Heights Temporary Feline Station Patrol Officer, we made sure our newest little recruit was safe, comfortable, well-fed, and given PLENTY of love. 🐱💙

He has also been seen by a veterinarian and, best of all…

🏡❤️ HE IS NOW PENDING ADOPTION! ❤️🏡

It looks like our furry officer may officially be trading in his badge for a forever home! 🥹🐾

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who shared his post, reached out, offered to foster or adopt, and sent messages asking how they could help. The response from our community was incredible.

We’d also like to give a special thank you to our Village Police Dispatchers and all of our Officers who made sure our temporary station cat felt safe and very, VERY loved during his short time with us. 💙 He may not have been with the department for long, but he certainly made himself at home — and stole quite a few hearts along the way!

⚠️ A VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER

While this little guy’s story appears to be getting a happy ending, abandoning an animal is not only dangerous and cruel — it is against the law.

Under Illinois law, abandoning an animal is a Class B misdemeanor, which can carry penalties of up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $1,500.

If circumstances change and you are no longer able to care for your pet, please do not abandon them. Reach out to a local animal rescue, shelter, or other animal-welfare organization for help. There are people and organizations willing to assist you in finding a safe and responsible solution.

Every animal deserves better than being left behind. ❤️

🐾 FRIENDLY CAT IN NEED OF A FOSTER HOME 🐾

This morning, a cat was unfortunately abandoned at St. Rosalie’s Church and was safely brought in by Officer Sal.

We’re now hoping to find someone in our community who may be willing to foster this sweet cat while a more permanent arrangement can be made. ❤️

The cat is extremely friendly, docile, and affectionate and seems very comfortable around people. We would love to get this little one into a safe, loving home as soon as possible.
