Officer Tareq has traveled and served in many places before making his way to Oklahoma, where he met his wife. He also proudly served several years as a Department of Defense Contractor with the U.S. Marine Corp in Iraq.

We are very happy to have Officer Tareq here in Haskell! If you see him out and about, be sure to say hello and give him a warm Haskell welcome! 🇺🇸👮‍♂️

Please SLOW DOWN and STAY ALERT in the morning and afternoon hours. Watch for children getting on and off buses, and pay close attention to school zones and posted signs.

👮‍♂️ Our officers will be out enforcing traffic laws to help keep our kids safe.

The Lawson family and the Fort Smith Police Department gave a heartfelt farewell to a truly wonderful man. George Lawson will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing, and may his family, friends, and colleagues find comfort in the many lives he touched.
