Do you recognize this pup? This older Lab mix was found in the 500 block of 13th St. W. He does have a microchip, but it is not registered. He is currently at the Hastings Police Department. Please call the Police Department at 651-480-2300, if you have any information on the dog's owner.

At Veterans Park, we’re putting resources to work twice.

As part of ongoing park maintenance, City Parks staff are clearing brush and branches to improve the health, safety and appearance of the trees and landscaping throughout Hastings' parks.

Rather than sending those materials away, the City chips them into mulch that can be reused right here in our parks. The mulch created at Veterans Park will soon be used around trees throughout the park. Two loads have already been put to use.

It’s a simple example of how the City can reuse resources we already have, reduce waste and save money on manufactured mulch—all while keeping those resources right here in our community.
