Today, I submitted my resignation from the Hastings Public Schools Board of Education due to a conflict of interest. My resignation will be presented to the Board of Education for formal approval at Monday evening’s meeting.
Serving on the Board has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I am incredibly grateful to the people of Hastings who placed their trust in me by electing me to serve our community. Your confidence and support have meant more to me than words can express.
Although my time on the Board will end before completing my second year in January, I am proud of the opportunity I had to advocate for our students, families, staff, and our district. Every decision I made was guided by what I believed was best for the children of Hastings.
While this chapter is coming to a close, my commitment to our community is not. I will continue serving the children and families of Hastings in a new capacity, and I am excited to continue making a positive difference each day. My role may be changing, but my passion for public education and my dedication to our students remain as strong as ever.
Thank you to my fellow board members, district leadership, staff, and everyone who supported and encouraged me along the way. It has truly been a privilege to serve.
Hastings has always been home, and I look forward to continuing to invest in the students and families who make this community so special.
