Park and water updates:

Reservoir storage: 32,558 acft
Water temperature: 72
Weather: fuego πŸ”₯

Fishing has slowed down, catfish are picking up more but walleye/sauger are down. Water temperatures have gone up, it is definitely a good temperature for swimming or watersports now.

Both boat ramps are still open, the reservoir is only losing 200acft per day, so the west ramp will likely stay open for the next few weeks. Expect temperatures to be in the high 90s to with lots of wind on Tuesday.

Park and water updates:

Reservoir storage: 35,512 acft
Water temperature: 65
Weather: super duper nice 🌞

Camping is pretty full for the holiday weekend, but there are a few sites available at the Point Campground for those making last minute reservations.

Fishing has slowed down a little, but catfish are starting to come around more often. Lots of anglers are having success towards the center of the reservoir where the river would run.

Expect the occasional wind throughout the weekend, but otherwise it's going to be amazing weather.

Memorial Day weekend is almost here, which means the boat ramps are going to be busy! Make sure to follow ramp etiquette when launching your boat:

- Load your gear and prep your boat before backing down the ramp. Don't forget the plug!

- When backing down the ramp, go slowly to avoid accidents with others going up/down the ramp.

- When launching, have a friend drive the boat off the trailer and into the open water and out of the way from the ramp while you park your trailer. Your boat driver can then approach the dock to pick you up once you get closer for a swift pickup.

-When loading boats on the trailer, boat drivers should wait away from the dock and ramp until their trailer driver is next in line to load.

- After loading the boat, put on a safety chain and drive the trailered boat to the parking lot. Finish drying, unpacking and strapping the boat in the parking lot.

Park and water updates:

Reservoir storage: 36,655 acft
Water temperature: 63
Weather: slight breeze

Fishing is still pretty decent, walleye and saugeye are doing well, not as many wiper as last week but still plenty of them. Drum are showing up, and a little more crappie than we had last year. Night crawlers, minnows, and mussels are the most popular baits lately.

Water levels are only dropping about 200 acft a day now, so both boat ramps should stay open for a bit. The west ramp will be closing once we reach 30,000 acft.

Park and water updates:

Reservoir storage: 38,001 acft
Water temperature: 60
Weather: gorgeous

Water levels have stayed consistent for a bit thanks to the snow storm. The west boat ramp will close once the reservoir reaches 30,000 acft, the east boat ramp will remain open for the whole season.

Fishing has been good. Still plenty of little white bass, a good amount of walleye, even crappie are starting to pick up. Not a lot of catfish lately.
