Last week, my staffer, Laura, hosted Denise and Ann from the organization More Than Aphasia, Inc. They were here to promote Aphasia Awareness and to ask us for our assistance in getting the word out about what Aphasia is as well as advocate for those who have Aphasia.
For those who don’t know, Aphasia is a communication disorder caused by stroke or brain injury. This leads to difficulty talking, reading, writing, understanding, and processing.
There are support groups that meet to help those with Aphasia as well as advocacy groups that can host informational sessions to talk about Aphasia and what can be done for those who suffer from this disorder.
