NOTICE TO ALL FARMERS WHO SUFFERED WEATHER
RELATED LOSSES IN 2023-2024

Good morning all,

We wanted to make sure you were aware of this new round of disaster relief funding available for farms that experienced weather-related losses in 2023-24 so that you could help spread the word.

Natural Disaster Recovery II (NDRII) Program for Agriculture

The Natural Disaster Recovery II (NDRII) Program for Agriculture provides financial assistance to aid agricultural operations that suffered weather-related losses in 2023-2024 to rebuild and recover, with the aim of supporting farm sustainability, building resilience, and enabling ongoing production.

Applications on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

CISA application support and info session

Additionally, CISA is hosting an application support and info session for farms on September 15 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

The Hatfield and Whately Select Boards will hold a joint meeting on Tuesday, September 8th at 5:30pm to consider a proposal for a shared Police Chief that could take effect as early as January 1, 2027. The Towns are looking to reduce administrative costs while improving services for both departments, and will share details of the proposal at the meeting on the 8th. Under this proposal, Whately’s Chief would serve as Chief for both Towns, and Hatfield’s Lieutenant could serve as second in command in the absence of the Chief. The two Police Departments collaborate regularly now, and are interested in formalizing this relationship with the shared chief as a first step.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting on September 8th, and more information will be released in the coming weeks.
