We are closed Friday, May 15th. We will resume normal operations Monday, May 18th.

Due to a damaged fiber optic internet cable requiring repairs, the Forrest County Tax Collector’s Office will be closed today. We are working diligently to restore service and get our systems back up and running as quickly as possible.
A decision regarding office operations for tomorrow will be made later this afternoon, and updates will be posted as they become available.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

TRAFFIC NOTICE | Monday, May 4, 2026
Parade of Champions

The Parade of Champions gained two new members yesterday.

Hattiesburg High’s boys and girls track and field teams both brought home Class 6A state championships, adding another reason for Hattiesburg to show up and celebrate.

The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart High School’s parking lot. From there, it will travel down West Pine Street, turn right onto Front Street, turn left onto Main Street and end at the Rebekah Stark Johnson Community Arts Center.

This year’s parade will include two announcer stages:
▪️ Near City Hall at Forrest Street and West Front Street
▪️ At Main Street near the entrance to the Pocket Museum alley

Road closures along the parade route will begin shortly after 5 p.m. Drivers should plan ahead, use alternate routes and watch for pedestrians.

More than 40 groups of champions from across Hattiesburg will be part of the celebration, so let’s pack the route and celebrate the students, athletes, teams and organizations carrying Hattiesburg forward.

I’m incredibly proud to brag on four of our own today!
Emily and Angela have officially passed Collector of Revenue I, a major milestone and a testament to their hard work and dedication. Shannel and Shawntay have gone even further, successfully passing Collector of Revenue II, an outstanding achievement that shows true professionalism and commitment to serving Forrest County.

These ladies continue to raise the bar in our office, and I couldn’t be more proud of the example they set every single day.
Please help me congratulate them on their hard-earned accomplishments!
