Because of the holiday, our crews in Public Works will operate an abbreviated schedule for garbage, trash and recycling pick-up.

Heading to the Southern Miss game Saturday? Hub City Transit will have a free gameday shuttle running from the Lake Terrace Convention Center straight to campus.

Shuttles will drop off at Hillcrest Hall and the Polymer Science Building and will run from 1 p.m. until two hours after the game ends.

Parking at the Convention Center is free, and the shuttle is a simple way to skip the traffic near campus while still enjoying the full gameday experience.

On Friday, September 11, the City of Hattiesburg will gather to remember the lives lost 25 years ago during the September 11 attacks.

The memorial ceremony will begin at 8:40 a.m. at Hattiesburg Fire Station #1 (810 Main Street) as the community honors those who lost their lives at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and aboard Flight 93.

That’s a wrap on another Night Off Broadway.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made the evening such a good one. Night Off Broadway has become a chance to bring people together in a different part of town, enjoy the energy around Hattiesburg High and spend time in an area that continues to be an important part of the city’s future.

We’re grateful for the city employees who helped make the night happen and especially thankful to Walt Massey Automotive Group for sponsoring this year’s event and continuing to invest in Hattiesburg.

Night Off Broadway is tonight!

Hattiesburg will kick off this year’s National Night Out celebration on Friday, October 2, at Live at Five, followed by neighborhood parties across the city on Tuesday, October 6.

National Night Out is about bringing neighbors, law enforcement officers, first responders, city and county officials and community partners together to build relationships and strengthen the neighborhoods they serve.

Residents and neighborhood leaders are encouraged to host a party on October 6. Whether it is a cookout, games for families or simply time spent visiting with neighbors, each gathering helps create stronger connections across Hattiesburg.
