When neighboring communities need help, we answer the call.

Yesterday, the Hattiesburg Fire Department deployed swift water technicians to Stone County to assist with ongoing flood rescue operations. Throughout yesterday, the overnight hours and this morning, those crews have been involved in at least five separate rescue missions.

This morning, a relief crew is deploying to continue those efforts and support the other emergency responders working around the clock to keep residents safe.

We are proud of the dedication, training and professionalism our firefighters bring to these challenging situations. Please continue to keep everyone affected by this flooding event, along with the first responders serving them, in your thoughts.

And as always, never drive through flooded roadways. Turn around, don’t drown.
