So, here’s where I stand and let me make this clear to everybody.
This is not a racetrack. This is our Town where people live, where kids ride bikes, people walk, where families expect to make it home in one piece. And yet some of you are flying down these streets like the laws don’t apply to you.
They do.
We’re seeing it too often—vehicles double even sometimes triple the speed limit, people acting like saving 30 seconds is worth risking everything. It’s not. It never is.
If you’re speeding, if you’re driving recklessly, and if you think the laws are just suggestions, they are NOT they are laws and will be enforced. The safety of our citizens is not flexible. You will get stopped. You will get tickets.
This isn’t about revenue. It’s not about control. It’s about making sure people don’t get hurt—or killed—because someone couldn’t be bothered to slow down.
You want safer streets? It starts with you taking your foot off the gas and yes even applying the brakes to stop at the stop signs. It starts with you acting like the people around you matter—because they do.
Slow down. Pay attention. Follow the traffic laws. Drive like lives depend on it.
Because they do. If you choose not to, expect enforcement action.

I ask that you support me and my Deputies on our enforcement effort and actions on this issue. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Jason B. Wright/ Town Marshal
