The Haubstadt Fire Territory Race Track Safety Team, alongside the Tri-State Speedway Safety Team, attended specialized training Thursday evening focused on sprint car driver extrication. Members had the opportunity to work hands on while practicing the safe and rapid removal of injured drivers from non-wing sprint cars during incident scenarios.
Throughout the evening, crews reviewed vehicle components and refined techniques in a controlled, low-stress environment. Training like this is invaluable in helping responders build familiarity with the cars and improve readiness should an emergency arise during live racing conditions.
A special thank you to Tom of Moose Racing for sharing his time, knowledge, and expertise with our teams.

In recognition of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we want to acknowledge the vital role our dispatchers play each day.
They are the steady voice on the other end of the line, providing support, coordination, and clarity in critical moments. We appreciate your professionalism and dedication.

Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 AM, so clocks spring forward one hour overnight.

Before you go to bed tonight remember to; set your clocks ahead one hour, change the batteries in your smoke detectors, and check clocks that do not update automatically!

You will lose an hour of sleep, but you will gain more evening daylight!

We got a wonderful surprise yesterday evening from Caleb, Myranda, Willow, and baby Juniper!
Pictured here with the family is Firefighter/EMR Jeff Moye, who assisted Gibson County Ambulance Service in caring for Juniper after Deputy Simms of the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office helped deliver her at Denny’s shortly after midnight on December 4, 2025.
We are proud to serve our community and those traveling through it by providing fire and emergency medical services…especially during unforgettable moments like this!
