The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office hosted a Muslim House of Worship Safety Meeting alongside our law enforcement and community partners to provide intelligence updates, security resources, and direct support to our Muslim community following the tragic mosque shooting in San Diego.

With the upcoming Eid holiday approaching, discussions focused on proactive safety measures, strengthening communication between faith leaders and law enforcement, and ensuring our houses of worship remain places of peace and unity. Increased patrols and enhanced coordination efforts will be implemented throughout Suffolk County during this period.

Special thanks to Hassan Ahmed for orchestrating this important meeting and helping bring together our community, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, Suffolk County Police Department, and the District Attorney’s Office in a unified effort to protect and support our residents.

Together, we continue to stand against hate, strengthen partnerships, and work toward a safer Suffolk County for all.

A special thank you to all of the Hispanic Heritage Parade organizers, performers, volunteers, and participants who helped make this celebration such a success. We were proud to stand together with the SCPD Hispanic Society and the Suffolk County Police Youth Explorers in recognition of the many contributions the Hispanic community continues to make throughout Suffolk County and beyond.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support and celebrate the rich traditions, music, food, and spirit of the Hispanic community. It was wonderful to see families, community organizations, and law enforcement come together for such a meaningful and vibrant event.
