SUFFOLK COUNTY TRAFFIC AND PARKING VIOLATIONS BUREAU ANNOUNCES TICKET AMNESTY PROGRAM TO BE EXTENDED THROUGH END OF MONTH

Suffolk County to Waive All Late Fees and Penalties for Outstanding Tickets Through February 28, 2019

The Suffolk County Traffic and Parking Violation Agency today announced that the County’s amnesty program to waive all late fees and penalties for moving violations, parking tickets, and red light camera citations has been extended through February 28. Since it was launched in December, 2018, the amnesty program has helped more than 2,300 residents settle outstanding penalties. Once the amnesty program has concluded, TPVA will embark on an aggressive collection and enforcement program including the use of an outside boot and tow contractor.

Suffolk County’s limited-time Traffic Ticket Amnesty Program for outstanding traffic tickets, including Red Light Camera Citations, moving violations, and parking tickets ends February 20, 2019. During the program, the payments due on qualifying tickets will waive late fees and penalty fees.

Once the amnesty program has concluded, however, the Suffolk County TPVA will begin booting and/or towing offender’s vehicles with multiple outstanding fines are be subject to booting and/or towing.

To avoid costly boot and tow charges, please pay all traffic tickets immediately. To take advantage of the amnesty program, please go to Suffolk County Traffic Court in the H. Lee Dennison Building before February 20th.

Suffolk County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency is now waiving all late fees and penalties for drivers with delinquent traffic tickets, including red light camera, parking, and moving violation tickets. The amnesty program will run from December 5, 2018 through February 20, 2019.

During the program, the payments due on qualifying tickets will waive late fees and penalty fees.
