Suffolk County Asian American Advisory Board put together a panel of experts who gave insights into various topics that are of importance to the Asian American community. The panelists included experts from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, Suffolk County Police Department, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, FBI and NY State Police. The topics included Human Trafficking, Hate Crimes, Financial Crimes, etc. Some of our local elected leaders or their representatives were also in attendance: Legislator Sammy Gonzalez, Legislator Tom Donnelly, representatives of Legislator Ann Welker and Brookhaven Councilman Jonathan Kornreich. In attendance was the newly appointed Director for Muslim Community Outreach for the NY Attorney General, Mr. Mohammad Mohsin Awais. The 60+ attendees were treated to a tasty lunch by TOA and YAAAS Tea.
