Last nights red flag warning brought us some lightening and very little precipitation. It did leave us a small ground and tree fire in Hauser to deal with this morning. This lightening strike caused fire could have gotten big if not for the owners being vigilant and looking for smoke this morning around their farm. Thank you to the community for always calling in any signs of fire so we can investigate or extinguish. We greatly appreciate our Hauser Community.

On Friday, 7 August 2026 at 0001, Hauser will move into Stage 1 Fire Restrictions and go from High to Very High Fire Danger Levels. Please review the differences between stage 1 and stage 2 Fire Restrictions and be ready to move into Stage 2 anytime in the near future.

Our thoughts go out to all those affected by the recent fires and their losses. Hauser Fire had the honor to assist with mutual aid on the Old Trails fire in Spokane with Engine 721 providing structure protection and Brush 751 assisting with a wildland fire on the Hidden Valley fire in Rathdrum. Our volunteers continue to stand by, ready to serve our community and assist our neighbors when needed.

Kootenai County moved from Fire danger level Moderate to High as of Friday morning, 24 July. Outdoor warming and cooking fires in a contained fire ring are still authorized but we ask everyone to be Fire wise. Temperatures remain high, humidity is low and we have increasing winds coming in this weekend. Be safe everyone.
