Aloha mai kakou,
I apologize for not writing sooner, but I wanted to make sure I had the latest voting information.
To the thousands who supported my campaign for State Senate District 23, and sacrificed giving of your time, energy, talents, financially, and those that honked their vehicle horns and waved during our sign waving activities throughout the pai ‘aina and most importantly voted for me! - with thanksgiving and gratitude, humbly I Mahalo nui loa kakou! I could not have done it without you! Blessings
With your kokua, we received 45.1% or 9,477 votes. My opponent received 50.3% or 10,567 votes. Historically, presidential elections have a higher turnout than a non-presidential election. Former POTUS, Donald Trump, rallied their Maga’s followers to vote.
I lost the area where I am from: Hauula-Laie-Kahuku. I received 942 votes in the area, my opponent had 1718 votes. The Mormon Church coupled with Trump running for POTUS made for a perfect storm.
I finally accepted the loss and have now moved on.
I especially want to Mahalo nui loa kakou my Campaign Committee. Former State Senators Mike McCartney (Ahuimanu and Maunawili) and Gil Riviere (Waialua) as Co-Chairs for the committee and everyone else on the Committee and everyone associated with my campaign.
I also want to Mahalo all those who helped sign wave throughout the pai ‘aina. From Wahiawa-Waialua-Haleiwa all the way down to Kahekili and Kulukeoe in Kaneohe. There are so many of you. For those who honked their horns when passing and or wave or gave the shaka sign, which was meaningful for us, as it validated our campaign.
For those of you who were part of my fundraisers, and there were a few – the proceeds allowed used to print walking brochures and three mailing brochures for the Primary!
Mahalo nui loa kakou. Blessings
For my fellow brothers and sisters in the Labor Unions (I am a Union man – Film and Stage Union) who endorsed and supported me financially for the General elections that allowed us to print my walking brochures and three mailers, which are some of the most beautiful brochures ever for any campaign!
Mahalo nui loa kakou! Blessings
For those who walked door to door with me or without me, your walk counted. You are the backbone of any campaign.
Mahalo nui loa kakou! Blessings
