๐๏ธ๐ Our Hillies are making their voices heard! ๐๐๏ธ
On Friday, June 5, students from all four Haverhill middle schools and Haverhill High School proudly represented our district at the Statewide Civics Showcase at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate in Boston.
After earning top honors at the Citywide Civics Showcase in May, these students had the opportunity to present their projects to peers from across Massachusetts and receive valuable feedback from community leaders and advisors. Although there were some nerves at the start of the day, our students spoke with confidence, passion, and expertise as they shared their ideas for making a difference in their communities.
As Massachusetts Secretary of Education Stephen Zrike and Department of Youth Services Commissioner Cecely Reardon reminded attendees, students are the changemakers of our societyโand our Hillies proved exactly that. ๐๐
We are also incredibly proud of five Haverhill High School juniors who served as student leaders throughout the event. From emceeing the showcase to conducting interviews and assisting participants, they helped make the day a success while showcasing outstanding leadership skills.
This achievement reflects not only the dedication of our students, but also the support of their families, teachers, and staff members across the district who help inspire civic engagement and student success every day.
Congratulations to all who participated! It was a great day to be a Hillie! ๐๐
