's Next City-Wide Curbside Leaf Pick-Up Is This Saturday, April 16.

Capitol Waste, the city’s waste hauler, will begin collection at 6 am. Residents are asked to have their containerized leaves at the curb in open-top barrels or biodegradable paper leaf bags before 6 am. Barrels or bags should not weigh more than 40 lbs. Any loose leaves, or leaf bags containing trash, debris, dirt or in plastic bags, will not be accepted.

This collection day does NOT include brush, limbs, branches, sticks, or tree trunks. Brush can be dropped off at the Recycling Center starting Saturday, April 16, behind DPW at 500 Primrose St. on Wednesdays (8-3) and Saturdays (8-1). All residents MUST have the 2022 sticker or a day pass to drop off brush or branches. The 2022 sticker can be purchased at the DPW, Mon-Fri (8-3).

After this, the next curbside collection day will be Saturday, May 7. After that, the Recycling Center will accept grass and leaves Monday-Friday (8-3) and Saturdays (8-1). Again, residents MUST have the 2022 sticker or day pass to drop off leaves. The Recycle Center is for Haverhill residential use only. No landscape contractors or commercial vehicles are permitted.

The City of Haverhill is hosting COVID-19 vaccination clinics Fridays and Sundays during January.

First, second and booster vaccines, including Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson/Janssen, are being administered. Clinics take place Fridays, noon-7 p.m., and Sundays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., through the month of January, at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St., Haverhill.

Happy Thanksgiving!

's curbside trash and recycling routes will be bumped one day for Thanksgiving. If you are scheduled for regular pickup on Thursday, your pickup day will be Friday instead; Friday pickup will be Saturday.

The Recycle Center on Primrose Street will be closed Thanksgiving Day AND on Black-Friday Nov. 26. The Recycle Center will re-open Saturday Nov. 27. Recycling (cardboard, TVs, tires, appliances & propane tanks) and brush (branches, sticks) will be accepted Saturday from 8am-1pm. All residents MUST have the red 2021 sticker to drop off leaves or brush. The 2021 sticker can be purchased at www.HaverhillRecycle.org. Alternatively, a $9 Day Pass can be purchased from the front gate attendant (no cash, checks only).

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 27, is also waste (motor) oil drop-off day. Used waste oil is collected at the Recycle Center on the last Saturday of each month from 8am-1pm. There is a 5-gallon limit (per day). No Commercial material is accepted.

Reminder; the last citywide curbside collection day for leaves will be conducted Saturday, December 4th. Capitol Waste will only collect leaves set out in paper lawn bags or open-top barrels. Thursday and Friday trash and recycling pickup delayed one day this week due to the Nov. 11 Veteran's Day holiday.

If you are scheduled for regular pickup on Thursday, your pickup day will be Friday; Friday pickup will be Saturday 11/13.
The Recycle Center will also be closed, Thu. 11/11, in observance of the holiday.
