The illumination 250 Festival presented by Visit Delco will take place this Saturday, August 29, on the Haverford High School football field. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and the event will conclude around 9:00 p.m.
This free, family-friendly celebration of America’s 250th anniversary will feature live music, food, activities and an evening drone show, and we hope you’ll join the festivities.
The event is expected to bring many visitors to Haverford Township. As a result, residents should expect increased traffic, pedestrian activity, parking demand and noise in the surrounding neighborhood throughout the day and evening.
Visitors will be directed to park at the high school, middle school and other designated locations. However, we do expect that some visitors may also legally park on nearby residential streets.
The drone show will conclude the evening's scheduled programming at approximately 9:00 p.m. Following the show, the stadium lights will be turned on as the crowd disperses and crews clean up. As a result, activity in and around the stadium may continue after the drone show concludes.
We understand that an event of this size can have an impact on the surrounding neighborhood, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation. We also hope you’ll come out and join your friends and neighbors for what should be a memorable celebration for our entire community.
